Let the beauty of the Lord our God be on us; and establish the work of our hands on us; yes, the work of our hands, establish it. - Psalm 90:17
We returned to Israel on January 25th, after spending about five weeks in the Denver area.
We had several opportunities to share our ministry vision with several congregations, as well as meeting a few pastors we had not met before. We of course spent the majority of time with our three children and five grandchildren who reside in the States.
We had one week to recuperate and attempt to overcome the jet lag. Our home church in Aurora, Colorado was arriving in Israel with their 60 person tour. For the last two years, Calvary Church Aurora has established a pre-tour team, and a post-tour team to come and serve with us at Beit Rachamim. This year we had two groups of seven, each serving three days.
Both teams got to experience two worship services, and both got to experience our IDF Soldier Outreach at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. The pre-tour team did an amazing job cleaning up our yard, which was a major blessing, which had gone unattended for the five weeks we were in America.
One of our team members in the post-tour team, at the Bus Station, felt the Lord was telling her to go talk to a specific female soldier. Well surprise surprise…the Lord was right again. Turns out the soldier was ½ Israeli, and ½ Thai. Of course our team member is originally from Thailand. Instant connection…she got to pray for her and was able to leave her the material we came prepared to hand out.
Our post-tour team was scheduled to serve in Ein Kerem at a municipal park on Friday. Man plans…God laughs. In addition to the weather not cooperating, we had a received a desperate phone call the day before, regarding a pressing need of a couple who are part of our prayer meetings in our village. The husband had been diagnosed with cancer several months ago, and his wife was in the States for a few weeks.
