Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
- I Corinthians 5:7-8We know it’s only March, and Passover isn’t until next month, but this gives us all plenty of time to connect with our Jewish brothers and sisters, a conversation starter, a teaching moment. Most Jewish people don’t realize that their Passover is your “Resurrection Day”.
Or maybe I should say that their Passover is your Passover.
The great pilgrim Feasts of the Bible are given to Israel in their original context. They belong to Israel BUT, as Paul states in Romans 15:27, you share in Israel’s spiritual things! As Gentiles, God has shown you mercy (Romans 15:9) and brought you into His banqueting house of love through the nation of Israel and her glorious Messiah (Romans 9:1-5). Passover, Pentecost(Shavuot) and Tabernacles, all rich in describing God’s redemptive acts, have become yours as well.
What a great time to go visit the local Synagogue!
We have just completed a 6 week teaching seminar on Jewish Evangelism at Calvary Chapel Lake Buena Vista in Orlando Florida. We of course discussed the “Feasts”, and the incredible picture of the Lord that is depicted in the Passover Seder. If you have never attended a Passover seder, I highly recommend you search out a synagogue or church that might be having one. Bess and I will be flying to Colorado, to be a part of the festivities at both Calvary Aurora and Calvary Ft. Collins, with Pastor Dave Pierce. Join us, we would love to see you!
We learned very quickly that the world of RV living is a ministry all by itself. The opportunity to share the Good News with people from all over the country and Canada is everywhere. We have also met many wonderful believers from all over.
This year we were privileged to attend the Calvary Chapel Southeast Pastor’s Conference in Merritt Island, Florida. About 1,000 attendee’s, half of them Pastors descended upon Calvary Chapel Merritt Island for a tremendous time of teaching, worship and fellowship.
If I had to pick one overall theme, amongst many, it would be described through the following verse: “Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
Brothers and Sisters, the Day is Approaching!
Last but not least, let us continue in prayer for the people of Ukraine. Israel is receiving 300 daily, and expecting a total of about 75,000. World events continue to spiral out of control, and seem to moving us closer to a fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38. Is the Lord getting the chessboard aligned to put the ‘hooks into her jaws”, and lead her out towards Israel? Let us be about our father’s business…the time is short.
