October 2024 Update

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. - Zechariah 14:16-19

The ten days starting with the Feast of Trumpets, (known to most as Rosh HaShana,) and ending with Yom Kippur, are commonly known as the Days of Awe, or the Days of Repentance.
We spent a few hours in our bomb shelter (along with our friends from Denver volunteering for a month) on the Feast of Trumpets last week, as Iran lobed 200 ballistic missiles our way. Instead of hearing the blast from the shofar, we heard the sirens of incoming rockets. The shofar blast is a call to worship, a call to prayer, or a call to war. This time it is a call to War.
Tonight is the eve of Yom Kippur. We will be fasting and praying for the Lord’s protection, as well as the salvation of our people. Between the events of last year (October 7th invasion), and the daily barrage of rockets on seven fronts, Israeli’s are yearning & searching for peace…which can only be found in The Prince of Peace. Pray with us that the Lord will remove the veil over their heart, and the blinders from their eyes.

Next week begins the Feast of Tabernacles. Usually thousands, but this year hundreds of believers from all over the world will “make aliyah” or “go up to Jerusalem” for the Feast, sponsored by the Christian Embassy.
It is a special time of fellowship, prayer, and rejoicing before the Lord, in the midst of very challenging times.

The Lord supernaturally revealed himself to me during the Feast of Tabernacles, forty years ago, to the day, so it holds a special meaning for me, as it should to you. Many, if not most believers know little about this biblical feast. The verse above is just one of many in both the old & new covenants giving us hints as the importance of this season. I challenge you to search the scriptures for newfound revelation.

Serving at the soup kitchen.

Pictured at the top of this post is our almost completed “succah” in our beautiful backyard, Dave & Anne Granado volunteering at the King of Kings Soup Kitchen twice a week, which feeds about 200 people each of those days, as well as Bess’s art class that she volunteers at Makor HaTikva, a messianic school twice a week.

Volunteers throughout the country are needed, but the situation on the ground and the holiday season we are in has limited out opportunities.
