Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob. He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit." - Psalm 105:1-11
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization) adopted an anti-Israel resolution last Thursday that disregards Judaism’s historic connection to the Temple Mount and casts doubt on the link between Judaism and the Western Wall.
Twenty-four countries voted in favor of the decision while six voted against and 26 abstained while just two were missing from the vote.
The resolution, which condemns Israel on several issues regarding Jerusalem and its holy sites, was advanced by the Palestinians alongside Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Sudan.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the decision as “absurd theater,” adding: “To say that Israel has no connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is like saying that China has no connection to the Great Wall of China and that Egypt has no connection to the Pyramids.”
Despite the clear meaning of Psalm 105, 90% of the nations either voted for, abstained, or didn’t show up for the UNESCO vote.
The “motto” of UNESCO, as listed on their website is “Building Peace In The Minds Of Men & Women”.
What could they have possibly been thinking as they cast their vote?
I’ll tell you what God was thinking.
“The One enthroned in heaven laughs”
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” – Psalm 2:1-6
As America prepares to vote for their next President, let us all be in prayer for a leader who will stand with Israel, and not yield to the pressure of the Nations of the World, and be subject to the Lords “rebuke in his anger” and be “terrified in his wrath”.
We had a very busy October, and had the privilege of serving alongside a new ministry, “The Beautiful Land Initiative”, the brainchild of Joshua Aaron & Jordan Marcellino. Based out of Tiberias, simply stated, we picked up trash. Hundreds of Israeli’s invade the beaches of the Galilee, and as you can see from the picture, removed over 50 bags of trash from Dekel Beach. Needless to say, we attracted a lot of attention, and good conversation with the beachgoers.
The Team from Colorado Springs ended their time of service at the Joshua Fund, stacking pallets of food to be distributed throughout the country.
Please pray for Avigdor Levi, who led the Shabbat dinner at Hineni Ministries. They are a religious organization (not believers) who serve a hot meal everyday to the poor of Jerusalem. We had some great interaction regarding the Gospel, and he asked if we can stay in contact with each other. He is also from New York, also a big baseball fan, unfortunately, a Yankee fan.
Speaking of baseball…Oh My God! The Chicago Cubs are World Champions…Can the Messiah be far behind…NO!
Let us be about our father’s business.
