Larry and Bess Herzekow
We are full-time missionaries to Israel that have been sent out from Calvary Chapel Aurora, in Colorado (US). Happily married since 1988, we have six children, with three serving in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) on active or reserve duty.
We are Jewish and hold dual citizenship in the US and Israel. Our personal journey with Yeshua (Jesus) began in 1984 for Larry and in 1987 for Bess. We originally made Aliyah (the calling back to The Promised Land that the Lord has put in the heart of Jews) to Israel in 1996 and lived there for 16 years. During that time, we worked and served in many of the ministries located in and around Jerusalem. In 2012, we moved back to the Denver, CO area. In 2014, we felt the Lord calling us once again to Israel with the vision of Beit Rachamim, which is Hebrew for “House of Compassion.” With this fresh vision, Calvary Chapel Aurora has commissioned us to serve as missionaries to Israel in obedience to His calling.

Which has been established for the express purpose of entering into honest, open, and direct discussion & debate. We believe that both the Tenach, and Talmud speak of the Messiah- and the Messiah is Yeshua, Jesus of Nazareth. We believe the evidence is overwhelming.
Our Focus - Connecting Evangelical Believers with Israel:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew firsth and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16
For those who desire to bless Israel and the Jewish people, Beit Rachamim provides a unique opportunity to send or serve on a short-term mission team in Israel. During the trip, the team will serve believing and unbelieving Jewish communities in tangible ways. Our long-standing relationships give Beit Rachamim the ability to connect a mission team with over 16 ministries in and around the Jerusalem area.
Based in Jerusalem, we will host your team by supplying room, board, and transportation. We will develop your schedule based on the ministries’ needs and your group’s interests and skills. Your schedule will include a mixture of humanitarian work and evangelical outreach. Your team will also have the opportunity to worship with the local body of believers and congregational leaders, see some of the country, and, most importantly, impact the lives of people by putting your hands and feet to work in His service.
Thank you once again for taking the time to learn about our ministry and us. We are excited to keep you informed about all the Lord is doing through our ministry via our monthly newsletter. We look forward to meeting you and opening our home to you on your mission trip to Israel, as you take part in what the Lord is doing among His people during this life changing mission trip!
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” – Matthew 9:36-38
