For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land. As many of you know, Bess and her family left Havana, Cuba as Fidel and his associates were preparing their takeover.
Since 1959, Americans have looked at the overthrow of Cuba in 1959 and asked, “Why didn’t the people just leave? Didn’t they see the writing on the wall?” Well, of course, hundreds did get out, as quickly as possible. But the great majority remained.
Many were unwilling to just walk away from their homes and businesses. Many others imagined that they might appeal to the new government to be allowed to keep their wealth, even though the national mood had shifted to a more collectivist paradigm.
In the end, they were all swallowed up. Those who objected were threatened with imprisonment. The others learned to be quiet and submit.
And this is just what’s unfolding in the U.S. today. Those who are filmed defending their homes against rioters find that no charges are brought against the rioters. Those who protect themselves and their property are the ones being charged.
No election will change the degree to which the U.S. has declined. The Rule of Law has already become a casualty. The U.S. has entered the post-Constitutional era. From here on out, the decline is merely a question of degree and velocity.
There are so many momentous events unfolding right now—including a contentious U.S. presidential election, social unrest, and a global pandemic.
We are all facing enormous concerns of our future , and the coming volatility will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
We have finally returned to Israel after three months, and began our 14 day quarantine yesterday, November 1st.
We certainly weren’t missing anything here. Israel had been on a total lockdown for the last 3 months.. About the only thing open were supermarkets and pharmacies. Restaurants can only serve customers for pick-up or delivery. There is a rumor floating around that stores, restaurants, malls, etc. will open on Sunday November 8th, as the Covid problem seems to rapidly decreasing.
JFK International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport were like ghost towns. Our Airbus 737 had less than 50 people on the flight back to Israel.
In our travels throughout the U.S. we covered over 6,000 miles, and about 25 States. Our message to the Church was simple. Yes, our hope is in the Lord. But with antisemitism and persecution increasing throughout the U. S. the Jewish community at large will find themselves in a “high risk” environment.
The conference we attended in August, made us aware of many hundreds of individuals who had heard from the Lord, with instructions to begin to prepare their homes as a place of refuge for Jewish people, for a time of great persecution. These “Rescuers” are fully prepared to risk all they have, including their lives, for the sake of sheltering Jewish people. The Lord also has a plan to return them to Israel, where we and many others are prepared to house and care for them during their time of transition.
But God’s word is true, he will bring his people back to the Land of Israel, and then he will pour his Spirit upon them….and they will know him, as the prophet Ezekiel reminds us.
Pray for the Jewish people outside of Israel, scattered throughout the Nations, to see “the writing on the wall”, as Bess’s family did, leaving Cuba while it was still possible to leave.
As it was in Germany and eastern Europe during the Nazi reign of terror, most thought it would pass, and all would be well, or in total disbelief. They stayed and perished.
A time of “Jacob’s Trouble” could be just around the corner.
I waited until November 5th, to complete this Update, hoping we would have a clear political victory for President Trump, and as we all know, that is not the case.
We must fervently pray for the Lord’s perfect will to be carried out without violence.
“And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him”. – Daniel 2:21-22.
