As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
- Proverbs 25:25

It was a tremendous week of service for the mission team from Calvary Chapel Aurora, led by Cassandra Austin. The above verse was emblazoned on our custom T-Shirts. It was fulfilled on a daily basis, as much “good news”, prayers, and supplication were offered up to the Lord, as we petitioned him for healings, salvation, and mercy for the victims of the hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and surrounding states.

Their journey began at the Rehabilitation ward of Sheva Hospital, outside Tel Aviv. We were able to pray for many patients, including Muslims. We were literally pulled into the room by a concerned wife who’s husband had brain surgery. Pray for Shlomo Cohen. Both he and his wife welcomed our prayers, knowing we were believers in Yeshua.

The following day we journeyed to Ra’anna where we served at Leket Israel, the national food bank facility. The Lord has always opened an opportunity to share with somebody there, and he didn’t disappoint. Please pray for David, who’s father is on their board, and David was volunteering for 2 weeks. A young man from London, raised in an orthodox home, brilliant, but of course totally brainwashed and misinformed regarding Yeshua. Pray that he takes me up on some of the challenges I presented to him. We read many messianic prophesies from the Tenach (Old Testament)together. He had never read any of them before.

The next day we journeyed to Bet Shemesh, home to The Joshua Fund, Joel Rosenberg’s ministry of feeding the needy.

We packed 24 pallets of food that will be distributed throughout the country, to both Jew & Arab. Enough food for 2000 people.

The Galilee was the next day’s adventure. We served with “The Beautiful Land Initiative”. You can see from the picture how much trash we picked up from one of beaches. Two hours in that hot sun was plenty. We continued to the ancient city of Migdal, where a first century synagogue is being excavated. Probably a place where Yeshua would have taught. We continued to Capernaum, and then a well deserved boat ride on Sea of Galilee for about an hour. “The Beautiful Land Initiative” continues to amaze the locals, and have established a tremendous relationship with the mayor of Tiberius.

The following day we continued to build our relationship with Alon & Noa, who oversee “The Bustan” in beautiful Ein Kerem.

This is a Jerusalem park where locals hike, bike, horseback and run. We did a variety of park maintenance. Pray for Alon & Noa. The teams that come and work their tails off are leaving a tremendous witness of the Lord’s presence.

It was a Friday, we ended the day with a traditional Shabbat meal, and singing the songs we made them learn for the hospital visit.

Saturday was a fun day…we started at En Gedi, where David hid from King Saul, then headed south to the beaches at the Dead Sea. Ended the day traveling to Arad for a time of prayer and worship with some old friends.

We also had time to visit the Valley of Elah, where David slew Goliath. Also had time to enjoy a time of worship and the word at 2 local congregations in Jerusalem.

I know the team’s efforts was pleasing to the Lord.

I’ll conclude with this: There is a verse in the bible that states that all the books could not contain everything Yeshua did and said during his ministry on earth. So it was with this team. The Newsletter is not long enough to include everything this team did in service to the King- You were AWSOME- Todah Rabah- Thank you very much!
