February 2024 Update

Then tell them, 'This is what the Almighty LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they've gone. I will gather them from everywhere and bring them to their own land. -Ezekiel 37:21

“Therefore, the days are quickly coming,” declares Adonai, “when it will no longer be said. ‘As Adonai lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.’ Rather, ‘As Adonai lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had banished them.’ So I will bring them back into their land that I gave to their fathers. “Behold, I will send for many fishers,” says Adonai, “and they will fish for them. After that, I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down from every mountain and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. - Jeremiah 16:15,16

Four months have passed since the horrific events of October 7th , when Hamas and associates attacked the nation of  Israel. For Bess and I, the four months seemed like eternity as we were in “prayer & supplication & intercession for our two sons, Micah and Jacob, both called to reserve duty in the IDF (Israel Defense Force).

Recently, they were both relieved of their responsibility. We are forever grateful for the many of you who joined us in prayer. The battle, unfortunately continues, as the Iranian supported Hezbollah in the North, pose an even stronger danger.

The nation is so small and connected, everyone knows someone who has been captured or killed…a national tragedy, and the worst nightmare since the holocaust.

As everyone is painfully aware, the huge uptick in antisemitic events has brought an element of fear to the Jewish communities worldwide. Sadly, even the great centers of education in the U.S., our Ivy League universities and other great institutions have been infiltrated by the radical left.

Our God is in the business of turning evil to good. And the events of the last four months is no different. I’ll explain further in just a minute.

Ministry wise, House of Compassion had 3 mission teams scheduled for October and November. We actually had our travel arrangements and ministry schedule complete, but the Lord had other plans. The tourist industry in Israel has been devastated, along with many other related businesses. Travel is minimal. El Al , Israel’s national airlines, is the only show in town for the immediate future. The other U.S airlines have talked about resuming flights, but so far none of them have.

We continue to receive many inquiries from churches. Until some of the “smoke clears”, it would not be wise to schedule anything for the immediate window of time.

Back to “God turning evil to good”. There are sixty-four (64) verses in the Tenach (The Old Testament), in which God has promised to bring his people back to the Land of Israel. “64”. That should give us an idea of the importance God places on his promise to return his people, all of them, back to Israel. That process, in modern lingo is “Aliyah”. The process of emigrating to Israel under the “Law of Return”, established with the rebirth of the nation in 1948, rising from the ashes of the holocaust.

Almost ½ of the remaining Jewish population worldwide is in the United States. Up until a few years ago, Aliyah from the U.S. has been minimal. But with the recent pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, antisemitic environment, the Jewish people are feeling less comfortable. And just like the pre-WWII Europe events, we can see God’s hand in making it less comfortable for Jewish people living outside of Israel. What if the economy has a major downturn. Many economists are predicting recession or depression…who might take the blame for that??

Many believe the above verse in Jeremiah is coming to fruition. The time of the “Fishers is ending. It is the time of “the Hunters”.

Bess and have spent the last four days in Buffalo, N.Y, at the national headquarters of Operation Exodus, training to be area representatives. Since 1991, they have been assisting Jewish people once they have been approved for Aliyah with both financial and practical assistance. They have helped over 200,000 Jewish people over the last 35 years. They work hand in hand with the Jewish Agency, the organization all most go through who wish to move to Israel.

We’ve included a short video about OE (Operation Exodus).

As representatives of OE, this is answered prayer for Bess & I.

We’re praying that this will give us an open door to contact rabbis, synagogues, and other Jewish organizations to offer the services of OE to those who are interested in making Aliyah.

We will be hoping to build solid relationships within the Jewish communities wherever God opens up an opportunity. We would covet your prayers for “Favor” as we walk through what we believe to be God’s open window of opportunity.
