And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. - Jeremiah 32:40-41

Little did we know that in November of 2019, that the Mission Team of Ride Nature in Ft. Myers Florida would be the last team that we would oversee in Israel. We left on vacation for the U.S. in December, and by the time we returned in March, the Covid pandemic had practically shut down the world economy. As we speak, there are whispers of loosening the stranglehold, but the gates at the airport still remain closed to tourists.
I mention Ride Nature, an international skateboard ministry, because the young man who headed the team, Derek Shatto, was in a horrific automobile accident on March 28. He has been in a coma since the accident, and desperately needs our prayers. The newsletter I wrote in December of 2019 speaks of the tremendous witness the team was. It is archived on our website. https://houseofcompassionisrael.org/latest-news/

We finally had an opportunity to hook-up with “Israel”, our friend from February, if you remember, who the “Spirit” or the “Wind” carried him into our presence.
We shared a meal, continued the conversation, and prayed that the Spirit would knock some sense into him, before I do!
He’s a tough cookie, but weren’t most of us at some point in time.

We met with our friend Jeremy Smith, the National Coordinator For Israel at Operation Exodus, to see if we can play a larger role in assisting new immigrants when they arrive, as well as promoting Aliyah from the U.S. by educating the Church on the role they can play, as well as speaking at synagogues.
The Jewish Agency for Israel reports that “more than 20,000 new immigrants from almost 70 countries made aliyah in 2020.” Whether it’s the dismal global economic situation, “the Covid-19 pandemic or because Israel has become a desirable alternative for world Jewry, the numbers are impressive.” All these Jews left their comfort zones during a “period of global turmoil, to come build a new life in Israel.”
New inquiries from potential new immigrants and the aliyah files being opened have increased so dramatically that the Jewish Agency officials think 250,000 immigrants could return within the next five years if the government implements a national plan for such a large wave of immigration and absorption.
Israel’s election process remains in turmoil, and no candidate has been able to form a coalition under its antiquated system. There are murmurs of doing away with the craziness of having so many parties. Twenty-Six parties (26) ran for Prime Minister in our last election.
Summary of our Prayer Requests
1. Derek Shatto for healing
2. Our friend Israel for salvation
3. An increased role in the Aliyah process with Operation Exodus (Ebenezer)
