Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. - Jeremiah 31: 31-33
Making a Difference
The Clarkston family, all eight of them, from Calvary Chapel Surfside, ascended upon Beit Rachamim in the beginning of May. Designed mainly as a once in a lifetime family touring adventure, we did spend one day assisting Pastor Chad Holland of King of King Assembly in their new residence with much needed yard work, painting and cleaning. They also got to experience Holocaust Remembrance Day, Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terror attacks, and culminating with the celebration of Israel’s 71st birthday (Modern Day) during Independence Day. Thank you “Clarkston’s” you were a tremendous blessing. Pictures below.
In the verse from Jeremiah above, the Lord states he will deliver a “New Covenant” to the house of Israel & Judah, and “write it on their hearts”. Boy, are we waiting for that day. Well, until that day happens, the Lord has been impressing on my heart for quite some time now, to put in writing what we have been teaching and doing for more years than we care to admit.
Being a “Jewish Unbeliever” for just about one-half my life, I am keenly aware of the “areas of struggle” that Jewish people have. After much procrastination, and much prodding by Bess, I have published my first attempt at producing a manuscript that we hope will challenge the unsaved Jewish person into continuing his or her search for truth, as well as how to help believers effectively share with Jewish people. As a former high school teacher, I am very comfortable with a small group of people and a chalkboard. It’s easy to express your zeal and excitement verbally when discussing the things of God. It was a bit challenging to transfer that excitement to a computer screen and keyboard. It’s not in the same league as Mark Twain, but who is. With the Lord’s blessings, we’re hoping it will change the lives of many.
We have already gotten feedback on a few people who have purchased several copies to give to friends and associates, Jewish people who they know, who do not yet know the Lord.
We are hoping and praying that those who are reading this UPDATE might consider purchasing one for a Jewish person who doesn’t know the Lord. If you don’t know a Jewish person who is not saved…FIND ONE. (Just kidding!)
Bess has also written a book, an autobiography, which will be available soon. We will keep you posted.
We are excited to announce that Brian & Carmen Brill, who have been studying in Israel for the last three years, and have been a part of Beit Rachamim since its inception, will be rotating with us in and out of Israel on a regular basis. It will give them the opportunity to play a significant hands on role in the daily activities of the ministry, and give us a little more time to promote the ministry stateside as well as meeting with pastors and church leaders with a similar vision.
Please continue to pray for continued good health, strength, wisdom and direction, as we will be very busy with teams through November.
