I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
- Psalm 30:1-5

We had a relatively quiet August except for our special guests from Shanghai, Pastor Chaobeifen and her son Jiaen. They were with us for 10 days for a combination of serving and touring the Land. A mutual friend put them in touch with us. There is the possibility that they can refer many Chinese pastors who desire to come to Israel, but cannot afford to come on a full-blown tour, but can fit our arrangements into their budget. We hooked them up with Pastor Chan, who leads a local Jerusalem Chinese congregation (Pictured to the right). Please pray that this connection will lead to many referrals.

One is never too old to learn, as we had some challenging and exciting adventures together. Sometimes just sharing a meal can be an adventure. What did we learn? From this time forward, tell all guests from China to BYOC…Bring Your Own Chopsticks!

Bess and I had some challenges this month, health-wise. We have an extremely busy schedule the next 3 months, so we would ask for your prayers for strength, stamina, health, wisdom & direction for the many groups that will be coming.

“Temporary minor afflictions” but recovery time is slower….It’s the one-year anniversary of my “heart-cath”…we thank & praise the Lord for his healing.

Psalm 30, above, says it all…Praise The Lord.

On a much more serious note…one would have to be hiding his head in the sand, not to realize that God is doing some serious shaking on a global basis. There are so many things happening on what seems to be a daily basis, we can be spending the entire day interceding on behalf of countries, cities, people, and events.

Suffice it to say…we all need to be drawing as close to the Lord as we can…staying in his word, praying without ceasing, repent and give thanks daily….Being About Our Father’s Business.
